Managed Solutions vs. Outright Purchases
Transcript:
“Instead of purchasing hardware or software outright, you can get a managed service provider to provide a managed piece of equipment, which is essentially where the MSP owns the hardware and they rent it back to you.
This is commonly firewalls, antivirus solutions, or switches. The benefit is that the expert provider implements, manages, updates, and owns the hardware. Should it become broken or outdated, the provider is held responsible for it, instead of the responsibility falling on you.
The con is price. Typically it’s more expensive than purchasing outright, but there is a premium attached to the insurance that you get for having the firewall or antivirus provided by your managed service provider.”
