Under Ron Unger's leadership WorkSmart has grown from a small IT consulting firm to a leading provider of Information Technology managed services in the mid-Atlantic region. Unger oversees activities related to strategic direction, IT outsourcing solutions, and growth initiatives including mergers and acquisitions. Unger founded WorkSmart while earning an MBA at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He serves as a Board Director for three for-profit, mid-size corporations based in Alaska and Washington, DC. He also serves as a Board Director for the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) and the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Durham Public School's Business Advisory Council. Unger was honored with the 40 Under 40 Award for Leadership and Community Service in 2005.

Ricky Ayers oversees financial and organizational aspects of WorkSmart’s daily operations. He has been instrumental in maintaining the stability of the company and refining its processes through a period of rapid expansion. His experience in improving organizational efficiency led to a number of innovations in the structuring and presentation of IT consulting services. Prior to joining WorkSmart, Ayers was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, one of the world’s leading management consulting firms. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Clay Harris oversees all technical and service aspects of WorkSmart’s daily operations. Working closely with WorkSmart’s technical team, he is instrumental in delivering and maintaining the service levels, professionalism, and technical expertise that define WorkSmart. Harris received a degree in political science from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and also serves as a Board Director for Achievement Academy of Durham, a Durham-based organization.
